BOILER ROOM is a must-attend electronic and dance concert event for anyone who loves music and wants to experience some of the best entertainment that summer has to offer. Across the stages, you’ll be treated to sets from several world-renowned artists in one of Canada’s largest and most vibrant cities. ABOUT BOILER ROOM

Boiler Room started with a webcam taped to a wall, opening a keyhole into London’s underground. Since 2010, we’ve built a unique archive spanning over 8000 performances by more than 5000 artists across 200 cities. Today, we remain true to that history. We support emerging artists. We tell stories from the fringes. We connect local dance floors to the wider world.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT BOILER ROOM?

Boiler Room televises underground music as it happens from around the world to a massive online community. By doing so, we create windows into scenes and sounds from every corner of the globe, connecting millions of music heads with the specific music they love.

BOILER ROOM ARTIST FEES

Boiler Room pays all artists for all broadcasted performances, full stop.

Artists have always been paid industry standard fees for all of our commercial (ticketed, branded) shows & projects. In June 2020, we integrated a universal artist fee for all editorial shows too. Since then, no artists have played on Boiler Room for free & all artists will continue to be paid going forward.

Prior to this, Boiler Room editorial shows – which are self-funded & free to attend – sometimes operated on a promotional exchange, where artists' fees were not covered. Although this was standard in the broadcast space at the time, we quickly recognised that exposure ≠ payment. Over a period of time, we reduced the number of projects we took on each year, introduced ticketed events & tours, & focused on new types of brand partnerships––all with a view towards financial sustainability and providing an appropriate level of support for every artist we work with.

Today, we continue to support the artists we work with through fees, funding and access to our global platform.

BOILER ROOM OPEN DANCE FLOOR POLICY

Boiler Room strives to be a safe, comfortable and inclusive environment for all. By joining us in this space, you agree to respect everyone in the Boiler Room community.

We have a zero tolerance policy for discrimination of any kind; this includes but is not limited to: racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and ageism. Any attendee who harasses or is violent against an artist or fellow audience member will be removed from the venue by one of the security team.

The Boiler Room format is intimate by nature: our shows are presented in-the-round, with our audience in close proximity to our performers. While we will always take precautions to safeguard everyone, we trust our audience to respect the intimacy of the space. Never touch anyone without their consent and always give the artists ample space to perform.

We are dedicated to building intentional spaces for artists and fans, but it would be irresponsible to claim that all our shows are safe for everyone at all times. While we take great care in protecting our community and making our events as comfortable as possible, we urge you to report any adverse experiences to one of our trained welfare team members or, for artists, the dedicated Artist Liaison. If you’re not able to report an experience at one of our events, please contact us at info@boilerroom.tv after the fact. Our team is here to support you as best we can.

We ask those in attendance to be mindful of excessive consumption of intoxicants, for your safety and the safety of others. The majority of our events are recorded for later streaming or documented in some format, you are responsible for how you appear on camera and we encourage you to be conscious of this. This is a special moment for our artists so we urge you not to detract from that by behaving inappropriately.

While we do not condone the consumption of illegal narcotics under any circumstance, if you, or someone in your proximity, has overconsumed do not hesitate to seek assistance from one of our on-site staff. Please note that parking on site is extremely limited due to other events and construction projects taking place in the area of Echo Beach Toronto, as a result traffic and parking will be affected.
