WHAT IS VUJADAY MUSIC FESTIVAL?

Vujaday is a 5-day destination music festival that takes place in a variety of unique locations around the island of Barbados. Vujaday Music Festival invites you to explore lush landscapes, dance on flawless palm-covered beaches and soak in translucent azure waters under a golden island sun. Beyond a cultural exploration that will allow attendees to visit key regions of Barbados throughout their journey, the festival is curating a lineup focused on different styles of house and techno, featuring internationally renowned DJ's and local favorites.

WHERE IS VUJADAY MUSIC FESTIVAL?

Events take place over 5 days in various locations around the island ensuring each day offers attendees a unique festival experience. We will be building anticipation by unveiling secret festival locations closer to the festival dates.

WHEN IS VUJADAY MUSIC FESTIVAL?

Vujaday Music Festival is taking place from February 9-13, 2022. Event times will fluctuate based on the location and day. More information on event times and locations will be announced as we get closer to the festival dates and the secret event locations are unveiled to the public. You can expect events to run during the day and often right through the night as well.

ARE TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR?

Tickets will be available at the door of an event if that particular festival event has not yet sold out. Tickets purchased at the door will always be more expensive than advance tickets.

WHAT CURRENCY IS USED IN BARBADOS?

The currency used in Barbados is the Barbados Dollar (BBD). However, US Dollars are also accepted everywhere on the island. The Barbados Dollar is converted at the official rate of $1.98 BDS to $1.00 U.S - converted at 2 to 1 when using cash everywhere you go except the banks. It is fixed to the U.S Dollar and does not fluctuate. Its rate to other currencies fluctuates daily based on their fluctuations relative to the U.S. Dollar. Most stores and restaurants accept major credit cards and of course, most Barbados hotels and other lodgings also accept these various forms of payment.

IS THERE A BRANCH OF MY BANK IN BARBADOS?

Citibank operates a merchant bank in Barbados and it is the only U.S. bank located in the jurisdiction. As for Canadians, CIBC, RBC and Scotiabank all have branches located in tourism-focused areas. That being said, when it comes to international withdrawal fees - those depend on your account type. We recommend you inquire at your branch and they will explain the fee structure for your account ahead of travelling.

DO I NEED A VISA TO VISIT BARBADOS?

"Most countries do not require a visa to visit Barbados, including North American and European countries, but if you’re unsure, check to see if one is required for your country.

ALL visitors to Barbados must have a passport and a valid return ticket to be allowed entry. Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay on the island.

THINGS YOU NEED TO ENTER

A passport valid for the duration of your trip.
Return ticket to the country of residence.
Intended Address (where you will be staying).
Evidence of personal support (means to provide for yourself during your trip).
A child under the age of eighteen (18) travelling without a parent/guardian must have a letter of authorization from parent/guardian.

IN ADDITION, due to constantly changing travel requirements globally, we strongly recommend you review the Barbados Health Protocols for additional entry requirements at time of booking and prior to commencing travel."

IS BARBADOS SAFE?

"Barbados is a safe country filled with friendly and warm locals who are eager to lend a helping hand. The island has one of the lowest rates of reported homicides in the Caribbean region. However, like anywhere in the world, you should take reasonable precautions to stay safe while on your trip.

Don’t leave valuables in plain sight, in an unlocked car or room, or on the beach.
Use your hotel safe if one is available.
Lock doors and close windows when leaving your room or car.
Avoid beaches and unlit areas at night and avoid trespassing on private property.
Be respectful of the locals.
Maintain the same level of awareness that you would at home.
Make a note of the Barbados emergency numbers: Police 211; Fire 311; Ambulance 511."

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO BARBADOS?

"Here are some important things to remember to pack for your Barbados holiday:

Passport
Drivers license (if you plan to rent a car)
Cash, credit cards, debit cards
Your Vujaday Music Festival ticket that you can use to pick up your wristband
Flip flops, beach wear, cool cotton shirts, shorts, some smarter casual outfits
Sunblock and sunglasses
Camera, mobile phone, chargers and adapters if necessary (Standard plug types in Barbados are: Flat blade (2 flat blades) at 150V)
Mosquito Repellant

NOTICE: It is illegal to wear camouflage of any kind in Barbados, so definitely leave that at home."

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO FESTIVAL EVENTS?

Don’t forget to wear your wristband! Wristbands will grant you access to Vujaday Music Festival events and you will not be allowed to enter unless wearing your own, valid wristband. Ensure to bring identification of some sort, whether your passport or driver’s license. And finally, make sure you bring some cash or a credit card so that you can purchase drinks and food at events. We recommend cash, as we cannot guarantee all vendors will accept card payments.

WHEN DO I GET MY WRISTBAND?

Once you purchase your ticket you will receive an order confirmation email from Easol on behalf of Vujaday Music Festival. You will exchange your printed ticket or scan your mobile ticket in exchange for a General Admission or VIP wristband at the airport or at the on-site check-in at each event location. These wristbands will grant you access to Vujaday Music Festival events. You will not be allowed to enter any festival events unless wearing your own, valid wristband. Festival wristbands must be worn at all times.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

Tickets are non-refundable. In the case of a local government forced cancellation of the event due to local mandates and/ or regulations due to COVID-19 or other similar circumstance any amount paid toward an entry ticket will be refundable by request to the original form of payment within 30 days of the request. All ticket processing and booking fees are non-refundable in any circumstance. Any requests for refunds outside those listed above will be considered on a case by case basis upon written request from the purchaser.

ARE TICKETS TRANSFERABLE?

Tickets are transferable. In order to complete a transfer, you will need: 1) the original ticket-holder to email info@vujadaymusicfestival.com approving the transfer using the email address used to make the original purchase 2) provide the last 4-digits of the credit card used to make the purchase 3) provide the full name and email of the new recipient of the tickets and their email address. Upon arrival in Barbados, the name on the printed ticket must match the identification being presented at the time of wristband pickup.

WHAT IF I BECOME ILL?

"We highly recommend that you acquire adequate travel insurance for the duration of your trip to Barbados. We recommend Sun General travel insurance, and their plans can be tailor-made to your specific needs and requirements. For more information on Sun General travel insurance

Barbados is also home to the highest standard of health care in the Eastern Caribbean and boasts quite a number of government and privately-run medical facilities throughout the island supported by highly qualified professionals. There are Doctors’ offices and pharmacies scattered all over the island and the main hospital on the island is Queen Elizabeth Hospital, located in Bridgetown."

IS THERE FIRST AID?

"In the event of an emergency, there will be medical teams at each event to treat anybody who may feel ill. In the event of an emergency outside of festival grounds, Barbados emergency services numbers are listed below:

Ambulance – 511

Fire – 311"

WILL I BE ABLE TO USE MY PHONE?

"There is free Wi-Fi available at many places around the island including bars and restaurants and most hotels also offer this complimentary service. There is 3G cell phone coverage across most of the island and also 4G/LTE in Bridgetown and populated areas. Most cell phones work in Barbados, but you’ll have to pay roaming charges to your provider back home. The International dialling code for Barbados is +1 246.

If you’re a little tech-savvy, you can also choose to purchase a prepaid SIM card in Barbados if your cell phone is network unlocked. Replace your SIM card with the Barbados one while on the island to avoid excessive roaming costs. Find out information on how to best to set up a local SIM card"

CAN I VOLUNTEER AT VUJADAY MUSIC FESTIVAL?

No, unfortunately, we are not accepting any volunteers for Vujaday Music Festival.

ARE THERE AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FESTIVAL?

The Festival is strictly an 18+ event. Anyone under the age of 18 who has purchased a ticket will be refused entry – no refund is applicable.

WHAT CHILDCARE OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN BARBADOS?

"Barbados Tourism website has a great page that lists reputable child care providers that offer nannies and babysitters for any type of residence as well as various daycares that parents can drop their kids to for the day.

Many of our partner hotels also offer kids clubs and teen centres, as well as on-site babysitters. Even if they don’t advertise it, the front desk or concierge can definitely arrange an accredited babysitter for your needs. Contact the hotel you’ve booked with for more information on the child care services they offer."

Please note that if you do not represent a credible publication, your application will not be taken into consideration. If you are approved to cover the festival, one of our PR team members will be sure to be in touch.

WHAT CURRENCY ARE THE TICKET PRICES LISTED IN?

While our marketing material always presents ticket prices USD our ticketing site will present final purchase prices in your local currency in order to save you conversion costs when purchasing from outside of the United States. You may convert to alternate currencies depending on which one you would like to complete the transaction with in a drop down menu at the bottom of the ticketing payment page. This page can be accessed by pressing “BOOK NOW" from our “TICKETS" page and scrolling to the bottom of the page.
